It all started online — with a few messages, some friendly banter, and a bold claim from Hilary about her unbeatable Cribbage skills.

Ryan called her bluff, and their first date was spent over coffee, a Crib board, and a lot of laughter. (For the record, the competition is still ongoing.)

Since then, they’ve shared countless adventures — from traveling and cheering at sporting events to catching concerts and comedy shows, and spending quality time with the people they love most.

Then came one quiet evening at home after the 2024 Grey Cup. With the Toronto Argos freshly crowned champions over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (because the Saskatchewan Roughriders couldn’t win a game…), Ryan got down on one knee and said, “You need some green this weekend.”
He wasn’t talking about football — he was talking about the emerald ring that now symbolizes their next big chapter.
